The clock is ticking loudly!! Home Health Agencies (HHAs) are transitioning to iQIES (Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System) on January 1, 2020. You’ve been transmitting your OASIS data sets to CMS via the QIES ASAP (Quality Improvement and Evaluation System – Assessment Submission and Processing) system since submission was required – many years!
By now, your agency should have requested access to iQIES – CMS calls this process onboarding. CMS asked that this process be completed by December 23, 2019 or your ability to submit assessment data needed for payment purposes (PDGM) could be impacted beginning January 1, 2020. If you have not done so already, please request access to iQIES as soon as possible! If you’ve waited until now to request access, please be aware that there may be delays in QTSO Help Desk response times as CMS anticipates a surge in iQIES access prior to January 1, 2020.
A QTSO Memo – December 16, 2019 reflects that user-requested HHA reports in the CASPER Reporting application will no longer be available as of January 1, 2020. This note is found in that memo:

Lastly, I want to convey this information to you – carefully check each and every Final Validation Report (FVR) beginning January 1, 2020 (you should always check your FVR carefully!). Make sure the patient mapping is accurate and there are no misidentifications on any/all records. This has been and continues to be a problem with LTCH submissions (this provider group transitioned to iQIES some time ago) and HHAs will likely be no different. View any/all warning messages on a FVR and take appropriate action so that your payment is not negatively impacted!
